Facebook Ads Is A Big Fraud Experts Warn - Fake Likes And Clicks? (2025)

After getting exited about getting 824 likes to my new fanpage using Facebook Ads, I noticed strange behavior by these new "fans" and their profiles. I also noticed a huge difference in my click thru tracking data on my landing page and what Facebook's "clicks" said I received.

After doing a little research I saw official reports by top reputable websites, Experts, and by regular people warning the marketplace about Facebook Ads. I wasn't convinced at first that this was true, but now I'm 100% certain that is happening. Facebook Ads Is A Big Fraud Experts Warn - Fake Likes And Clicks? ***** Over 60% of your likes and clicks are faked! *****

Don't take my word for it, read this thread till the end:
Facebook Ads: What Are You Really Paying For?

Oh yeah, watch out with Eric in the link above, he appears to be a damage control agent.

I've come to conclude that these generated fake clicks and likes are not made by auto-bots entirely, but by international outsourced people that create fake profiles and simply click-away to your ads all day long and get paid 5cent-10cent per click while you give 20cent-1dollar+ to Facebook!

I'm not saying you can't make money on Facebook, simply that even if you super target your ads with your market don't expect to get all legit *Likes and *Clicks to your fanpage/website.

After reading the above thread on the link, have you too noticed strange inconsistencies in your Facebook Ads? What are your *2 cents* about Facebook Ads?

My 2 cents... Put in real effort. Track, tweak, test ads...LEARN from mentors who have created the results that you want and regardless if it is Facebook PPC, Google PPC or whatever you can achieve massive success at anything.

I have done a few tests this year with facebook ads.

IMO its a complete fraud. I was targeting people correctly yet still getting stupid feedback.

I noticed that young girls and random arabs where liking my facebook page explain to me why a 12 year old kid would want to like a web development page?

Why would an arab who does not appear to peak English like a very small English web firm?

I wont be investing again in facebook ads.

Hmmm that looks interesting, well disturbing actually... Facebook was so vocal of removing duplicate and fake accounts a few months ago.. Well if they are behind this it is alarming I hope they can explain what is happening here.

So far I've heard a lot of speculations but I haven't seen any evidence yet. Personally, I think if facebook ads simply don't deliver, they will no longer get any advertisers, and their entire business will go to the crapper.

If a business has $200,000 and invests it into facebook ads. Facebook sends 40% fraud clicks, the business is at a loss and no longer invests into facebook. Facebook lost a customer. Why would they want that?

For that reason, I don't believe facebook wants to scam somebody's brand new advertiser account's $50 by artificially clicking the like button. People who buy into those conspiracy theories just won't admit that somebody else is successful at facebook ads while they are not, and they're ready to come up with anything, blame anyone but themselves.

It appears that Facebook has been incompetent when it comes to this kind of issue.
Perhaps, the main reason why Facebook ads get fake likes and clicks is for them to earn money and more people will create new FB ads. And FB can do what they like and want to do in any way they can.

There are shenanigans all over... Since going public, Facebook is "cooking" a lot of things it seems - even holding fans hostage in your news feed (Mark Cuban).

The "like" count can increase many different ways - by page, post, etc. 1 person can attribute to 5+ likes if done a certain way. Like the page, like a few posts, like a few posts about your page on someone else's page, etc.

In the end, if the ad is not making you money - it's a dud.

Facebook is too big and have too much to lose to be involved in such a scandal. I personally think facebook is not the best source for ads.

Forgive me for being a little slow, but are you all saying that if a person purchased ads on Facebook, there are internationally outsources people (possibly hired by Facebook?) that will click through on ads all day long? That sounds extreme, surely this would get out and there would be a public scandal about it.

I ran a small Test Ad Campaign with Facebook 2 months ago (October 2012).
The Ad was run for only 2-3 days.

The results (Facebook Ad Reports) looked like this:
    Campaign Reach: 60,284
    Clicks: 253

How many new visitors did I get to my site? NONE.

I didn't see any increase in traffic from the daily trend.
I also looked specifically for referrals from "facebook.com" and any other Facebook owned Domains. There were no referrals from there either.

I saw no signs of new traffic at all to my website during the test.

    My Money was wasted.
I do not have a good opinion of Facebook Ads from that point onwards.

Power = Greed. Greed = Control. Would anyone really expect for a huge company like Facebook and their millionaire executives and owners to be fair and think in the best interest of the people? Let's get real here. This should actually be expected, not questioned or defended.

I strongly believe that Facebook actually does this fraud on purpose. That's why they don't do anything to stop it.

    Think about it...

How hard is it really for their protection systems to *detect* and auto-close an account that is liking hundreds of fanpages an hour with no extra activity in their profiles? Specially when their advertisers are paying for it? Of course, Facebook is not going to admit they're behind this fraud.

Why would they do this? Contrary to general belief... is not about just money. Because they're already getting paid full price from you by these clicks. Why outsource (or allow) paid workers to come in and dilute the quality of your traffic?

    Is about control.

Is about keeping the rich richer and the poor poorer. Same goes with Google and their insane monthly new rules. They don't care about your money as much as you think!

Both Google and Facebook control the main veins of traffic in the world. Don't think for a second that this Vampire will share his vein (power) with just anybody. Even if you're willing to pay an arm and a leg for it.

Normally I don't create a profile to respond to a thread I find on Google, but I have to complain. This is my first post at Warriorforum.

I recently spent $40 on ads to get some likes on one of my pages. It's not that much money, but it's more than I wanted to just throw away. I did receive a lot of likes on my page, but the total reach didn't increase. Nobody contacted me about services I was offering (not SEO related). No comments. I messages many of the people who liked my page and received no reply.

I then searched the web. I found the link by the OP in this thread as well.

      This is what I found.
Get Paid for Likes - Earn Money Liking Facebook Pages
It's #1 on serp for "getting paid for likes on facebook".

I definitely won't be using FB ads anymore. I will probably focus mostly on SEO for now on. It's sad because I thought I was really able to target the market I wanted. I guess not.

I hear people claiming they can get clicks for 1 cent, so even if 60% is fake then it's still slightly more then 2 cents so not such terrible deal I suppose.
